Kentucky Association of School Librarians Blog Post: "Journey to Antarctica"

National Geographic Educator Certification Capstone Project

I presented on Pathfinders at the 2016 Summer Refresher for the Kentucky Association of School Librarians. Like a compass, Pathfinders point students in the right direction as they navigate the complex world of the information age. Pathfinders are designed to lead students through the process of researching a specific topic in a systematic, step-by-step way, making use of the best finding tools the library has to offer. I used topics and themes from Antarctica to create examples of the technology tools and resources I shared during my presentation. Please view my presentation to discover how I used Antarctica’s geography, wildlife, and climate change to promote digital tools for creating student-friendly Pathfinders that support research skills and highlight a variety of resources.
